The SS180® is a truck mounted attenuator used to absorb rear-end impacts during stationary and mobile operations. The steel support frame and energy absorbing cartridges require a support vehicle with a minimum weight of 16,090 lbs. (7,300 kg). The SS180® fashions a 180° tilt feature which folds at the center to stack both cartridge sections on top of each other during transport. It is NCHRP Report 350 Test Level 3 compliant.
