Highway Traffic Technician – Kingston Location

It requires a unique individual to be part of a highway crew.  Any position within the highway division is critical to the safety of not only all road crew members working on a job site but also the motorists using the highway as well. 

What you will be responsible for:

  • Set up and tear down of traffic control materials
  • Drive an arrow board truck to assist with lane closures and sign installation
  • Review traffic control/barrier plans to ensure that customer needs are met
  • Complete all required and mandatory paperwork for each job
  • Abide by any and all Book 7 requirements and guidelines
  • Flagging as required for job sites

What we are looking for:

  • Have a valid G class driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Your own vehicle to get to and from work
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, including manual labour in any type of environmental condition (heavy lifting often required – approximately 60 lbs)
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly
  • Ability to provide solutions to challenges that will inevitably arise
  • Have a positive attitude
  • Productive team member
  • Have an appetite to learn and understand that these positions are not the typical 9 to 5 (flexibility is a must)
