Seasonal Full Time – Days, Evenings, Nights, weekends and possible statutory holidays

It requires a unique individual to be a Traffic Control Person.  This type of position is critical to the safety of not only all road crew members working on a job site but also the commuters and pedestrians of the community as well.  We recognize and understand that working in the elements, often under less than ideal conditions is trying and not for everyone and it is for this reason that this job posting, will speak only to that special individual, the one that we are searching for.  Is that individual YOU?

What you will be responsible for

Act as a Beacon Lite representative in a highly professional manner when interacting with customers and the public, responsible for safely managing the flow of traffic through and around a construction site, understand the regulations regarding your work and your duties as well as understand the type of work being completed, the type of equipment being used on the construction site, and how the equipment is being used and where it’s travelling and finally understands that numerous hazards will be part of the job (i.e traffic volumes, speed limits, sight distances, etc.) just to name a few.

What we are looking for and hope you have

If you are a person who not only seeks out but also thrives in a fast-paced work environment, if you are able to perform physically demanding tasks, including manual labour in any type of environment condition (heavy lifting of approximately 60lbs and long periods of standing), if you have the ability to communicate effectively and clearly, if you are able to provide solutions to challenges that will inevitably arise, if you have a positive attitude, are a productive team member, have an appetite to learn and understands that this type of position is not the typical 9 to 5 (flexibility is a must and shifts during weekends and statutory holidays are a possibility), have your own means of transportation to and from work and finally if you have a valid Ontario G Class driver’s license (or equivalent) and a squeaky clean driving record, then we believe that you are that individual we are searching for.

What we offer

A competitive salary, a dynamic and fun workforce, room for advancement, a judgement free work environment and the opportunity to work with amazing people who care deeply about the service they provide to their community.
